The excitement is building for the Leather and Lace Fundraiser! We need your support in the way of auction items. We can use tangible items as well as your talent! Perhaps you have a service that you could offer that could be auctioned off? Is there something special you do that perhaps another member of our community would enjoy and benefit from? This is a great way to network and connect with others. Save the date of October 2nd and let's make a great evening of it!

Alki and Spud's go hand in hand and they will be celebrating their 75th Anniversary on Wednesday the 15th with a number of festivities and giveaways. I have fond memories from my childhood of my parents taking me to Spud's as a treat as they knew the owners once upon a time. Times were different -- we did not eat out as often as we do today and it was a special treat when we did. I have a certain feeling of nostalgia with some of the places that are still standing in Seattle. Here's to Spud's and those fabulous french fries. Ummm ummm good. Ms T.
Join Alki Spud, Wednesday September 15, for a full day of festivities featuring a net full of prizes and giveaways, including a proclamation from Seattle Mayor McGinn naming the official day 'Alki Spud Fish and Chips Day' in Seattle.
Other anniversary goodies include:
o free prize packs for the first 75 customers;
o $1.75 fish and chips with the donation of a canned food item to the West Seattle Food Bank ($2.75 without a canned food item, with $1 going to the food bank);
o a live marimba band playing rhythmic beach tunes; and
o a 75th anniversary prize wheel in which customers can spin to win one-a-kind collectibles and food prizes!

For those of us that loved the 70's (we think?) and lived through the 80's the first time or wish we did, this might be the perfect event to attend. If you love Gore AND Burlesque then you will be in love. The girls are bringing out the pleather and fishnets! Enjoy the evening and bring your friends. Ms T.

I have been B U S Y on the Seattle Announcements Calendar which benefits you my beloved readers. If you are not using the calendar, I highly suggest you consider doing so as it has tons of activities and information that is geared for one and all. This month, there are 889 events thus far and I have not finished entering new, exciting, supportive and fun things to attend! Remember, even when I am not posting or highlighting events, I am often adding events to the calendar or checking events to ensure that accurate information is on the calendar.
You can add the calendar to your desktop pc (or laptop) easily, or if you have a gmail/google email address the calendar can become one of your own personal calendars so you will have events at your fingertips always! If you enjoy being in the know on the go, your cell phone can easily have the calendar on it. I often use the calendar to see what is going on as I scoot around different neighborhoods. For directions on the 'how to' look right here... http://seattleannouncements.
