Saturday's Blood, Sweat and Queers Party Workshop is a win-win

I appreciate Allena from the Center for Sex Positive Culture for many things and one of which is her weekly "News from the Director" newsletter that shares the many events and happenings at the Center and of interest to the sex positive community.  While I do not highlight ALL the events in the GayZette, you will find many of them on the Seattle Announcements Calendar or of course, on their website calendar.  There are so many educational opportunities available and I am all about expanding the er...ah hem, mind ;~).

This Saturday at one of my favorite parties and will feature a workshop on how to seduce your top.  I hope that it is WELL ATTENDED - lol.  I would like to see the love shared in this area.

Blood, Sweat and Queers
The first Saturday of every month features a different theme, workshop or demo.  This month, our workshop is led by the ever-delightful Arli who is coming from Vancouver BC.

Seducing Your Top - during BS&Q this Saturday 8:30-10:00PM in the Library.
All are welcome and the workshop is free with your BS&Q admission.

Arli's workshop description:
I know how hard tops work to create a scene, a mood, an experience. They dress to impress, they work hard to learn new skills. They listen closely to the things that scare me and excite me. They seduce me; I’d like to return the favour. I want to seduce them. I want them to know how hot I am for them, how appreciative I am of their skill. It doesn’t matter if it is an ongoing relationship or a one night stand, seduce them. Why should they always be the ones to plan the date? Offer up something that you know they want from you. Trust me it will be worth it.

Arli's bio:
Arli is a polyamorous femme who has been kinky since getting her first spanking from the neighbour girl at age 5. In her home town of Vancouver, BC Arli has been organizing and hosting kinky events for more than 20 years. She has been presenting on a number of topics on and off over the last 15 years. She is usually seen traveling up and down the west coast with at least one other member of the Vancouver Away Team, a rogue group of queers intent upon creating Joyful Mayhem wherever they go.

Come and join us for the hottest Queer kink debauchery in Seattle! We offer a safe and fun place to play, sex it up, meet new people, and have an overall great time!

The Piercing Bible Author Elayne Angel in Seattle

If you have been considering getting a piercing you have the opportunity to be pierced by Master Piercer Elayne Angel through Sunday October 30th in Seattle.  I was so impressed with the information provided on Elayne Angel's website on piercing!  I am a fan of education and of providing excellent information on about any ole topic and Elayne does it in a variety of ways.  Most important to me was that she provides pictures so you can see a well placed piercing vs a botched piercing.

I appreciated that you could read about piercing, look at pictures, see free videos, purchase piercing video clips (love a woman that can market herself!) and she explains how you can determine in the privacy of your home what kind of piercing may be right for your own body.  She specifically addresses ftm piercings in a sensitive and knowledgeable manner.  An added bonus was a responsible post about teenagers and piercing.  I am definitely a fan and look forward to hearing her during the Q&A at the Sexing the Transman Documentary event on Monday, Halloween!

Join me on Halloween at CSPC for Buck Angel’s new film, Sexing the Transman XXX.  When I first saw this event in lovely Allena's News from the Director I did a little internet research on Buck and his wife, Elayne Angel  (see other post on Elayne) and was impressed with their candid information and sensitivity on trans issues.  I am looking forward to this event!  Ms T.

Buck Angel will be in Copenhagen at the MIX LGBT festival screening a mainstream version of the same documentary.
The film, Sexing the Transman XXX, is an intimate audio-visual tour of FTM sexuality, including interviews and graphic video of a variety of transmen. It was conceived, filmed, and directed by Buck Angel, educator, advocate, and iconic figure in redefining gender, sexual fluidity, and individual expression of identity.
Buck Angel made history rising to prominence as a female-to-male transgender adult film star, and he has used his struggles and successes as a platform to help empower people of all types and encourage self-love and acceptance. This film is one way that he is educating about the unique perspectives of transmen and working toward greater understanding in the realms of gender and human sexuality.

Jennifer from Libido Events to teach fabulous classes this weekend

When I read 'How Not To Be The Creepy Guy...', a workshop coming to Seattle this weekend, I thought--I know a few people I have met that I would like to send to the class!  Leave it to Jennifer from Libido Events located in Vancouver, BC to teach fun, educational and inspiring classes on real topics that we humans face.  I know that you have read before from me how fortunate we are to have so many choices in our area for all kinds of self exploration and education and this counts up on the list for smart creativity.  This weekend Jennifer will teach 3 classes for women, men, couples and bi-sexual women which you can check out below and of course on the Seattle Announcements Calender.  Enjoy - Ms. T.

Bi Women for Women Party
Hosted by Jennifer of Libido Events

Mark Your Calendars - Jennifer is BACK !!!!

Bi Women for Women Party
A Sexy Play Party
FRIDAY April 29
9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
CSPC Member's Only $20

Imagine your best all woman fantasy, now consider this an invitation to make it happen --without any men present. When you arrive at the venue you will step inside a place where the cares and the stresses of the day are left at the door. The lighting is soft, the colors are soft, the carpets and furniture are all soft. (The women are soft too).

The best part about a BI WOMEN For Women party is that it's a sexy, fun, carefree evening where almost anything and everything goes; a place to explore your voyeuristic or exhibitionist side (or both). If you're just at the beginning of your adventurous journey, it's a great place to dip a toe into the water and decide if you want to dive in deep or wade gently into the shallows. You can be naked as the day you were born, decked out in lace, satin or silk, wrapped in leather, shiny and sparkly in glitter, or festooned in feathers. Choose something that makes you feel provocative and desirable, because by the end of the evening it will be pulsing through you. Beauty. Softness. Laughter. Joy.

No two women are the same and no two BI WOMEN parties are the same.  There will surely be massage oil at some point, and the racy games ensure everyone not with a plan hatched has something to do that will appeal.   You'll find play stations set up for sex, cuddling, spanking, putting on a show, group play and more.   Plus you will find volunteers running booths where you may sign up for and experience a couple of unique pleasuring opportunities.  Oh my.

A BI WOMEN party is a feast for all the senses. Delicious snacks, fragrant candles and massage oils, giggles and whimpers, touches as bountiful as you might desire or none at all if you're merely a contented voyeur, and pretty girls of all ages, shapes and colors everywhere.  Bring your toys all your lovely play toys and your sexy desires.  It would be appreciated if you brought along a home made / baked item or store bought something to share at the snacks table, so there will be plenty for us to nibble on.

Come see which other women are looking to play, to hook up and to be seen.  It's like a secret sorority with no particular pledge and no particular uniform. The only expectation is that you leave your inhibitions at the door and venture boldly where no man has gone before. It's a girl thing. Try it. You'll like it.

Female ID only
Bi Sexual  & Bi Curious Women
We respectfully ask that this party have only lite BDSM play.

Saturday, April 30th

Toys for Boys Workshop
11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Open to men, women and couples

Many people assume that sex toys are only to be used on women -- happily this is no longer the case. These days there are a wide variety of products available to tease, please and make male pleasure so much more fun to achieve for the novice to the more experienced lover.

For a great number of men using a toy as an enhancement is not a thought they have previously entertained. Though by the end of this informative class, you will have discovered a few new products that you must acquire.

We will cover solo toys, toys to use with a partner and toys that are enhancers. Come learn about what creams, potions, powders, lubricants, rings, masturbators, plugs, hand held devices and other accouterments can do for your sex life.

You'll be blown away with heightened orgasms and sheer delight at the end result from using many of these products.

How to Look & Feel Sexy
1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Open to men, women and couples

Feeling and looking sexy doesn't come naturally for everyone. You too can learn how to turn on the sex energy and let yourself shine.

Good looks are sexy, but the confidence and attitude that you'll find for yourself after attending this class will make you even more attractive and desirable. We'll cover confidence building, inner and outer beauty, body language, pillow talk, seduction tips, and creating a sumptuous welcoming lair.

*this class is appropriate for all ages and for anyone who may feel less than enthusiastic about themselves yet still desires to be seen as sexy.

How Not To Be The Creepy Guy Workshop
4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
 MEN ONLY

At every party I attend or host there is inevitably a very nice man who comes off to at least a few different people, as the lonely creepy fellow to stay away from.

There are certainly ways to draw people in and there are even more ways to send them running.

In this class we will cover the top things that men do however subconsciously that turn women off and ensure you do not get the attention you are seeking.

Mens awkward advances and posturing can be the very reason that they never get any further with the ladies.

This class will support men in social scenarios but more importantly it will give positive feedback on how to handle yourself in sex play space.

*this class is appropriate for the man who is new in sex culture or who may have been around awhile and yet still not enjoyed success.

Thanks to CSPC and Libido Events for these announcements.

Media Strategies and Tactics AND Consent Counts
Sunday, March 28

3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Annex

Don't miss these two exciting discussions/workshops with the founder of the National Coalition of Sexual Freedom, Susan Wright, and activist Judy Guerin!

Media Strategies and Tactics: Winning the Culture War (3-4 p.m.)
The National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF) has developed winning strategies for dealing with media persecution. Concepts such as privacy rights for consenting adults, minority rights, and adult sex education are now being used to transform the media coverage of alternative sex. It's not just sensationalism anymore.

Susan Wright will take you through the most notorious media incidents over the past decade dealing with BDSM, swinging and polyamory - from Jack McGeorge's outing in the Washington Post over his involvement with the UN Weapons Inspection team in Iraq, to the recent attacks against Folsom Street Fair and Winter Wickedness by religious political extremists.

Tactics will be discussed - what worked, what didn't and how the incident was dealt with on an ongoing basis as developments happened. You'll also get interview tips and soundbites, and will learn about hot button topics and how to develop a media plan of your own.
Don't miss this exciting discussion with Susan Wright!

Consent Counts: Our communities' major sexual freedom initiative -- what you should know and how you can help (4-5 p.m.).

A discussion of, and call to action for, the nationwide Consent Counts initiative (led by the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom) to decriminalize consensual BDSM. This discussion will include the breadth of criminal law problems we need to address, major issues that need analysis - such as defining what "consent" means in the various contexts of BDSM - and the evolving strategic plans for the initiative. Particular attention will be devoted to what you, as a BDSM/leather/fetish person, can do to help in this important cause.
Brought to you by Judy Guerin and Susan Wright.

Update on insurance issue for CSPC

I wanted to pass on the latest information on the news over at CSPC.  This has created much stress for those directly involved but also provides that sense of community pulling together.  We wish for a quick and painless resolve!  Much love from the GayZette to all those that devote their time and energy at CSPC, especially Allena who knows I send warm hugs and wet kisses with this post.  Ms T

Good Afternoon

I want to update all of you on where we stand right now with the whole insurance issue.  We have not procured insurances as of right now (2:30 March 3) however we do have a couple very promising leads and it looks a lot brighter than it did a few days ago.  I'm certain that we'll be able to obtain insurance it's just a matter of when and how much it will cost.

We have still suspended operations at the Center until further notice and are keeping our fingers crossed that we'll have coverage by tomorrow so we can be open for Grind.  That said, it still may take a day or two to get coverage even after we've found an underwriter.

We have moved our Hump discussion that I'm leading (Flirting tonight at 7:00PM)to the Little Red Studio.  They have generously offered their space.  Enter at the Little Red Bistro, 400 Dexter Ave N.  Please plan on buying dinner or at least a beverage or snack while you're there.

Max (of Max's Bondage Workshops) is pursuing several alternative spaces just in case we're not open by this weekend.  I'll be sending out a newsletter tomorrow to update you on  the location.

Sash Bash has found another location.  Please check with them on where it is being moved to.  nwsashbash2010@gmail.com

Finally, I want to thank all of you who have written me, posted to Fetlife or CenterSpace or talked to me personally for all your support and caring.  So many wrote that at this time I do not have the bandwidth to answer each of you.  Just know that your suggestions and leads are appreciated.

Thanks again for all of your caring.  We are working hard and as fast was we can to rectify this situation.

Allena

Speaker Mollena Williams on BDSM and issues facing minorities who play

Mollena Williams will be speaking on 'Being a person of color in the BDSM community' which will be 'a class for everyone, covering some of the issues faced by minorities in our community.  It will be Saturday, January 16th at CSPC in the annex.  Looks like a not to miss event.

When:          1:30 PM to 3:30 PM

Where:        In the CSPC annex

Who:            18+.

Cost:            $20

Presenter:   Mollena Williams

Description:

While some kinksters embrace their Leather lifestyle with ease and nary a look back, others of us face difficult paths towards the leather lifestyle that are fraught with many pitfalls. One's religious, cultural and racial heritage can add myriad layers and nuances to the process. Though some may view the Leather Community as a utopian, egalitarian enclave, it actually is a microcosm, full of all of the twists, turns, fears and hopes that haunt and inspire the rest of the world.

In this class, we will discuss some of the issues facing minorities as their numbers grow within the public BDSM community. Stereotyping? Racism? Classism? 'Not in our Community!' you say? Think again. The instructor will share her own experiences in coming to terms with being a black female with submissive and slave tendencies, and still reconciling those feelings with feelings of isolation, guilt, desire, loss and an intense need to be true to her path.

EVERYONE is encouraged to attend; share your experiences or learn about the experiences of others in an open, accepting environment.

About the educator, Mollena Williams

Mollena is proud to have been awarded the title of Ms. SF Leather 2009!  She looks forward to serving the San Francisco Leather Community to the best of her ability, and to bringing honor to the amazing leather lifestyle.

Mollena has over 12 years of experience in the BDSM and Alternative Community.   She's blessed enough to occasionally travel nationally, teaching Leather Lifestyle classes.  Mollena has taught classes on Leather Lifestyle issues on many subjects and the list is always evolving ~ check out her BDSM Class Listings page.  She has conducted classes (by invitation) to BDSM and Leather Groups in Michigan, Oregon, Washington DC, Missouri, Illinois, New Jersey, Arizona, California, Wisconsin, and Florida.

Track where she's been and where she's heading on the Twisted Teachings Page, and keep your eyes peeled for a dungeon near you! Contact Mollena if you want to discuss the possibility of having her present for your group, organization, or whomever.

In addition, Mollena has had her work published by the Society of Janus Newsletter, The Eulenspiegel Society's magazine, Prometheus, as well as the online magazine at ALT.COM and Bondage.com. She was interviewed for The Bottoming Book, ColorLines Magazine, and the award winning documentary 'Vice & Consent'.  She also got all tied up in the instructional video,'Jay Wiseman Teaches Rope Bondage'.  She's been interviewed by Sharon Glassman for The Huffington Post and by Angela Plaid for Racialicious. Her blog, The Perverted Negress, has been a featured blog on Fleshbot (not once but TWICE!) as well as the pick of the week for The Sugasm. And boy howdy, the venerated Jane's Guide thinks The Perverted Negress' Blog  is pretty rad!

She is pleased that her essay entitled 'BDSM and Race Play' will be appearing in the upcoming 'Best Sex Writing 2010' ~ check it out!

Beyond teaching and writing, Mollena has appeared on or moderated panel discussions on various topics including 'Issues of People of Color in the Leather Community', 'Negotiation', and 'Submissive Women's Issues.'

Mollena has studied the fields of interpersonal communications and conflict moderation extensively. She proudly bears the scars from being featured as 'Stunt Sub' for countless BDSM workshops and demonstrations, and has worked with many acclaimed teachers and educators, including Celeste Devenaux, Teramis, Mistress Heart, Cleo Dubois, Fakir Musafar, Midori, Evil Mommy Tina, David El, Janet Hardy, Domina 'The Frugal Domme', Graydancer and Jay Wiseman.

New Years Eve 2010 - Seattle Area Party Events

Another year has passed and you will find parties in this email listed in this order: possible drop ins occurring in the general Capital Hill area you may want to know about followed by specific parties geared for us segueing into sexy more erotic events finishing the list and the evening.  Please note the last email you received from me was regarding the WildRose's 25th Anniversary Party that is occurring tonight (open it, hint hint).  There are 2 other email posts that each are explained if you open them.  All three email posts make up your New Year's Eve selections!

I am sure that I have missed something so please send me an email and I will add it.  I have many items lined up to send you that I hope will inform, excite and entice you my adored readers!  I must sleep at least a little to prepare for tonight.  Ms T

Here is a list of parties you may want to drop in on that may not all be women specific but are use  to seeing us folk.
