Wanda Sykes show starts Sat Nov 7th

I love this...Wanda Sykes has her own new late night talk show . How the tables have turned that an openly gay black woman can have her own talk show on Saturday night!  And it doesn't stop there...she talks about her wife, their babies, yes (s) as they have twins and she makes it funny.  I am lov lov loving it.

The Wanda Sykes Show will premiere on Fox channel 13 at 11 pm and will run each Saturday.  I know some of  you may not stay awake to see her (I am up that late) so set that DVR and support this show.  I actually think it will be a hoot.

Enjoy as I believe humor heals,

Lisa Kock and Peggy Platt are back

Events are starting to be listed for the Holidays and I will be sorting them and looking for the best bargain days to attend.  Please note that Ham for the Holidays are not refunding for inclement weather dates (unlike the wonderful Seattle Men's Chorus who preformed an incredible "make up concert" last year at Benaroya Hall which we felt honored to attend).  You will find this listed on the Seattle Announcements Calendar.

Lisa Koch and Peggy Platt are back at it with their own brand of comedy which I have always enjoyed.  This year it is...Ham for the Holidays: Lard Potion No. 9

Emails, RSS and Blog is Public

I am so excited that I solved the problems that had been keeping me up at night with this blog!  Private blogs can't have subscribers or feeds read, big duh!  Another reason to have made the blog public.  The "read more" was making my right side column slide under the middle column...undo the code and reedit 25 posts, wa la...fixed.  Now we can proceed!

The good news is that if you signed up for emails you are going to receive the teasers for ALL the posts I have written since the GayZette blog portion started (25 all at once).  Opps, so sorry but this is unavoidable as FeedBurner will see them as one little ole feed to send.  The bad news is that you have already received ALL the posts at once.  This should NOT happen again as we are now caught up.

You can click on each ARTICLE TITLE and it will bring you to http://seattleannouncements.blogspot.com/ to finish reading it.  You may get a notice that you are entering an adult site.

My hypothesis is that normally, you will receive one email a day with each post I have written in it.  We will see what it looks like together.  Feedburner only sends out 1x a day and I pre-select the time.

The folks that have signed for RSS feeds to your Reader accounts should see content almost immediately when I write and publish a post.  I can already see the posts and it is very exciting.

You can email me from each post and do other things listed at the bottom of each post too.  Please note...I will not place my email address on the site to avoid spammers that use techy search engines to spam email addresses.

Welcome to this adventure with me!

Halloween Night-full of prizes!

What a fabulous Halloween night was had by all at the Bump! The boys DO know how to dress, geesh! I do wish that my phone had been able to take pictures of some of the creative costumes but bar lighting did not do any justice to the costumes, drat! There was an incredible "Bleach Bottle Blond" made out of empty bottles of various shapes positioned perfectly on a huge white hoop skirt with a lovely umbrella with dangling prescription bottles around the rim, the 3 S & M's that looked good enough to eat and certainly were working up a sweat spanking and whipping each other into a cartoon frenzy and the 1st prize winner was from a TV show that I have never watched and did not recognize-opps (The Family Guy??).

As I was getting ready with my friends I noticed on their small entry table a small white board they had written on "Please God help us find time and money for a vacation". I thought that it was fitting with Brenda's positive way of thinking and off we went. I followed them to the Hill and then we went in my car. I have parking luck (always) and parked directly across the street from the Showbox on 1st Avenue.

We enjoyed the costumes and dancing and before we knew it was time for the 1st place grand prize drawing;an all expense paid trip to the Hawaiian Island of one's choice for 7 days, top notch accommodations and airfare totalling $5000. As the drawing took place it was almost surreal as I watched my dear friends WIN THE GRAND PRIZE. Brenda and Shorty made this trip happen as sure as I am writing this blog...

It definitely made me think of the things we make true in our own lives, positive and negative. We finished the night by heading to Dick's on Capitol Hill as all self-respecting queer women love Dick's after a night out on the town. We sat in my car munching burgers and fries talking about "luck" and reveling in the moment of "feeling" lucky and what we bring to our lives.

It was a good night and I wish you had all been there to share it with us!

Kindness to you...
