Today is the great Blitz Capitol Hill Art Walk and at Babeland they have a FREE event featuring Vitamin Dee.   Don't forget this weekend with the University District Street Fair, Saturday is JUGRZ Women's Motorcycle Conference Day and on Sunday in Everett there is the Sky Valley Antique & Classic Motorcycle Show.  Take a peek at the Seattle Announcements Calendar as it will tell you everything there is to do as there is PLENTY.

Blitz Capitol Hill Art Walk featuring Vitamin Dee

Photographer and graphic Vitamin Dee infuses her work with a deep curiosity of the pure sensuality of color, texture, movement and energy. Her sensibility is both playful and darkly knowing, yet warm and vividly spontaneous. Of Puerto Rican descent, Lugo was raised in the dichotomous worlds of Manhattan’s Loisaida and Stapleton, Staten Island. These environs and her experience of living in two very different worlds form the foundation of her vision. Vitamin Dee was a juried artist at Seattle Erotic Arts Festivals in both 2009 and 2010.

Sunday, May 16th 9am - Noon Plus musical events in the afternoon
The city of Everett will be taken over with motorcycles on Sunday May 16th as the Sky Valley show has moved to Everett.  The Cossacks will preform as well as School of Rock and Astrovan, a Seattle Band that combines Blues, Classic, Metal, and Alternative music to keep the crowd screaming.  Dragonfly Cycle Concepts will have their exhibition rig onsite and they make a great product, check it out.

ABATE of Washington on behalf of the citizens of Snohomish County and the motorcyclists of Washington puts this community run event on each year to bring positive awareness to motorcyclists.  They are committed to having this event during Motorcycle Awareness Month.  The classic motorcycles are amazing in mechanical ways as well as being beautiful.  Check out: http://www.skyvalleybikeshow.com/welcome_files/Page1212.html

Georgetown Super 8 Film Festival is May 8th

The 5th Georgetown Super 8 Film Festival is May 8th is unlike most film festivals you may attend. 
I tried to list the films but could not get the &%#$ pdf to work so if you are interested, go to http://www.georgetownsuper8.com/GS8_2010_Program.pdf and you can find at at the details.  There are multiple locations that the films are showing at and are ongoing all day.

Georgetown is the place to be Saturday with the Art Attack, Marni's art showing and this film festival.  This should be a great day to enjoy the neighborhood. Ms T.  

The Georgetown Super 8 Film Festival began in 2006 when local artists asked their neighbors if they would be interested in learning to make super 8 films with the intention of sharing one with their community. A registration form and poster were distributed throughout the neighborhood and participants were asked to only pay for their film and processing. Scholarship rolls were given to youth participants and need-based registrants. Registered filmmakers attended a one-night crash course in super 8 filmmaking; signed up to check out a GS8 camera; and were provided assistance throughout the process. Each participant submitted one un-edited 3-minute roll of super 8 film and the option of including a soundtrack or live music.

The enthusiasm was overwhelming and 33 films were made and screened at a local event facility to an audience of 200. This event continues to grow each year with 37 films submitted in 2007 and 46 films completed in 2008. Last year’s film screening night was held in a warehouse of the Rainier Cold Storage facility to approximately 500 people in attendance and GS8 2009 is expected to have even greater participation.
