Cal Anderson Park expected Summer Closure

The Seattle Gay News' Shaun Knittel has reported that Cal Anderson Park will be closed for most of this summer.  The closure of the park is due installing a new lighting system at the Bobby Morris Playfield, which is on the South end of the field.  The tennis courts, restrooms and shelter house will remain open although the tennis courts may suffer from a lack of lighting on occasion.
Bobby Morris Playfield will be closed from June 20 until the end of August, and construction and fences will replace sunbathers and sports teams.
There are many events that will be looking for a new home this year and one I am particularly fond of is the beloved Bat n' Rouge fundraiser (the Drag Queens vs the Dykes) for the Capitol Hill Alano Club.  It is considered the kickoff of Pride celebrations for many and is just plain a good time.  Ms T.
