sexual expression is healthy and beautiful... and funny.' - Cass King

The Wet Spots' award-winning new show SHINE: A Burlesque Musical is co-produced by the Seattle Erotic Art Festival, and makes its American debut at the Theater Off Jackson July 8-18.

Tamara the Trapeze Lady's benefit for the YWCA's Women's Health Outreach Program

Benefit for Women's Health Outreach on Thursday June 17th by Tamara's Broadway Follies
For those in the community that know Tamara, it will come as no surprise that she is doing her last 'official' show to benefit the YWCA's Women's Health Outreach Program (WHO).  By Tamara donating proceeds of this Thursdays event she supports the goal of WHO to educate women about breast and cervical health and to provide low-income and medically underserved women 40 and over with annual no-cost mammogram screenings and linkage to regular health care.  I hope to see many of you at this event to support two incredible forces coming together!  We can support both Tamara and WHO just by showing up and having a great time with friends!

Members of the Rainbow Health Fair Committee will be attending events and posting them here over the next few weeks.  We will be handing out informational cards, answering questions and reminding people about the upcoming Rainbow Health Fair on June 26th.  We will be easy to find as we share our enthusiasm for our great peer providers and services that are being offered for the LBT (lesbian, bisexual, trans) community.

Lovers of incredibly hot male burlesquers, THE LUMINOUS PARIAH fits the bill.  Hankering for a dancing earthbound Deity?  PERSEPHONE 'The Goddess In Glitter' is perfectly perfect.  Need more boylesque antics?  EMPEROAR FABULOUS satisfies quite nicely.  Verbally inclined, 'Pink Door muse' GANDHI JONES talks us into a cozy corner.  Seduction your quest?  Ride the waves with SAILOR ST. CLAIR and enjoy the view on MADISUN AVENUE.  Kinky for dark bad boys?  ARMITAGE SHANKS is your naughtiest singing nightmare come true.  Wishing for saucy dangling darlings?  TAMARA THE TRAPEZE LADY and MICHELE FRANCES will grant your fondest wishes.  Not enough?  Perhaps the possibility of winning a lovely raffle prize or the opportunity to help a really worthy cause is your thing.  Check out the link to learn more about that. http://ywcaworks.typepad.com/lbthealth/2010/06/benefit-for-who-on-june17.html

Laughing Ladies Women's Music Festival July 15th - 18th

Laughing Ladies is having their 2nd Music Festival over 4 days with an impressive line up starting Thursday July 15th with Pourquoi Pas, Amber Darland, Camille Bloom followed on Friday 16th by Eva Tree, Allison Shirk, Jillian Graham Band and Paula Maya.  Saturday's show will feature Willow and the Embers, Jennifer Youngs, Val D'Alessio and Susan Harper with the final show on Sunday the 18th closing with Karyn Michaelson, Gabrielle Louise and Sheryl Madden.  Each days show begins at 6pm.  Beer and Wine will be available.  Check Seattle Announcements Calendar for the lineup.

I encourage you all to visit Laughing Ladies Cafe.  Their events are listed on the calendar.  I have dropped by on several occasions for different purposes and have found this a wonderful place on each visit.  They have great pastries and coffee which I have enjoyed very late in the day.  The actual food looked yummy although I did not eat what one would call a meal (but I did talk to a couple people that did and they gave positive reviews).  I will be trying the food soon!

I have composed posts on my laptop and surfed the net while sipping wonderful latte's made just the way I like them.  On one visit I was so comfy in an easy chair that I admit I feel asleep for a few.  I was just so damn relaxed!  I am sure they do not want to be advertised as the place to come and take a nap!  But...they do create a nice atmosphere.

The point is -- that this is a very comfortable home away from home, call it a coffee shop, place to meet friends, conduct a business meeting, do your homework, read a book, check your email (they have pc's you can use for 15 minutes for free with a coffee order, a nominal charge after that), or bring your own laptop (no charge) and they have great music and comedy in the evening.  It just rocks!
