LGBT Elder Fund donation made

Last year as many of you may remember as part of boi Di's title as Washington State Ms Leather 2010 she held a few fundraisers with the intent of the monies raised going to a LBGT elder fund.  On October 7th a check for $2596 was presented to SAGE with Senior Services of King County.  We thank our community for donating their hard earned money to LBGT seniors in need.

SAGE affiliates are building a movement to reduce isolation, improve financial security and enhance the quality of life for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender older adults. Through SAGENet, a national network of affiliates, local leaders draw on the wisdom of their peers to implement programs and services that address the most urgent issues facing LGBT elders—from unemployment, to housing, to LGBT-affirming healthcare and more. They are also creating advocacy initiatives where LGBT elders advocate on their own behalf—at the local, state and federal levels.
PS.  I am late in delivering this message due to internal (exciting) upcoming changes at Seattle Announcements.

See Auntie Mame to support Three Dollar Bill Cinema on December 15th

You would have to be new to the GayZette to not know that I love love love Three Dollar Bill Cinema.  They feature the best of the classics and select amazing new releases.  Thanks to the hardworking folks at Three Dollar Bill Cinema.  I have not ever seen the upcoming Auntie Mame which is their annual fundraising screening film.  Ms T.
Celebrate the season with Three Dollar Bill Cinema and AUNTIE MAME. The beloved 1958 film starring the incomparable Rosalind Russell returns for one night of festive revelry, a 'homo for the holidays' tradition.

Always armed with a colorful dress and an acerbic quip, the flamboyant, vibrant Mame Dennis (Russell) is an unconventional socialite from the roaring 20's. When her young orphan nephew comes to live in her madcap party pad, Mame takes him under wing for an adventure in living life to its fullest.
Gaiety, classic film, and sharp humor...in the words of Auntie Mame: "What could be more wholesome and natural?"

The weekend highlights December 2nd - 4th

Wow...I know that December is a busy time but trying to choose what to go to this year is head spinning as there are so many great events to pick from.  I feel like we are suffering from an abundance of riches!  I try to avoid overloading my beloved's with too many emails but December will make up for the summer months when I was ignoring you ;~).  I currently have a backlog of items to send out that have to wait until the partying stops!

For any event mentioned here, remember there are at least ten more on the calendar (800 - 1000 events per month).  If you are counting on my emails alone for all the social happenings, I sweetly suggest you peek at the Seattle Announcements Calendar.  I hope to see many of you out and about this weekend as I am going to be all over the place.
